South Carolina Issues Data Call for Paid Family Leave Insurance Reporting

SC| The South Carolina Department of Insurance has issued a data call requiring all insurers licensed to transact life, accident, and health insurance in the state to report information on Paid Family Leave Insurance coverage for the past three years (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2025). This is in compliance with a new legislative mandate under Title 38, Section 103, which defines family leave insurance as coverage provided to employees for income loss due to events such as birth, adoption, foster care placement, care for a family member with a serious health condition, or military service of a family member. Insurers must submit the required data in an Excel template by August 31, 2025; those without relevant products must file a zero report, and all submissions will be treated as confidential and aggregated for public disclosure.
