NH| New Hampshire Insurance Department Bulletin INS 26-052-AB, issued August 12, 2026, advises personal lines automobile insurers that a missed renewal-premium payment does not permit immediate termination of coverage: under RSA 417-A:5, II(a), the insurer must first issue a legally compliant termination notice giving the insured at least 10 days to cure the overdue amount and maintain continuous coverage, and termination may occur only after that cure period expires without payment. The Department states that some insurers’ notices may not meet this requirement, directs insurers to review their termination notices and procedures, and expects any inconsistent notice forms to be revised and filed by October 1, 2026. After that date, NHID may audit notices and business practices; prior Department approval does not excuse noncompliance, and violations may result in administrative action and civil penalties.
