Getting Started with ILSA
It starts with gathering your essential information. ILSA uses secure Online Individual and Corporate Data Forms. We gather all the information we’ll ever need at one time. So no more typing the same information over and over!
Next, our Intake Specialists compare the information you provide to the data on file for you at the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) and other regulatory agencies. This highlights any information that needs to be updated.
Gap Analysis
Maybe you’re not absolutely certain of your current compliance status. If so, we can start with ILSA’s Compliance Reviews. Our experts reach out to our colleagues at the Departments of Insurance (DOI), Secretary of State Offices (SOS), Departments of Revenue (DOR) and Surplus Lines Stamping Offices or Surplus Line Associations (SLA). We verify exactly where you are licensed and/or authorized to transact business. Then we determine whether or not you are “in good standing” with regulators. You’ll always receive a detailed report of our findings, complete with suggestions on how to close any gaps.
Full Service Licensing
We don’t stop at making recommendations, though. ILSA has teams of specialists ready to handle compliance FOR YOU.
ILSA secures the insurance licenses you need – individual and corporate, resident and non-resident – in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the American Territories; for all the major lines of authority:
- Property & Casualty
- Life, Accident & Health
- Surplus or Excess Lines
- Variable Life & Variable Annuities
- Personal Lines
- Surety
We’re just as comfortable handling all the different “flavors” of Limited Lines and Adjuster licensing. ILSA also offers Surplus Lines licensing. Third Party Administrator (TPA) licensing is complex, but we make it easy for you. If you meet state standards to act as a Managing General Agent (MGA) or Managing General Underwriter (MGU), we’ll get you licensed. ILSA also does Risk Purchasing/Retention Group (RPG) licensing.
We also offer the “extras” required for licensing, such as Registered Agent Services and Bonds. And we handle tasks such as Name and Address Changes, Doing Business As/Fictitious Names Filings, Background Checks, Appointment Requests and Affiliations.
Corporate Compliance
For agencies, we offer Business Registrations with the Secretary of State Office and Department of Revenue. Our Corporate Compliance Specialists file Annual and Biennial Returns for all non-resident states that require these filings. We also process returns for a select list of domicile states. Additionally, ILSA’s Tax Specialists prepare and file non-resident Corporate Zero Income and/or Minimum State Tax Returns with the Departments of Revenue, as needed.
Surplus Lines Tax Filings
If you’re working in the non-admitted market, ILSA goes far beyond licensing. We help you enroll in state Surplus Lines Associations. We verify that each state gets the policy information it needs in the correct format. Then we send it to them, electronically or “old-school.” When Premium Tax Filings are due, we prepare and submit the correct forms and process your payment. ILSA also submits Zero Reports, where required.
Ongoing Support
ILSA doesn’t get you into compliance and then say, “Run wild. Be free.” We’re there for you for the long term. Your compliance specialists will guide you every step of the way. We love communication! We want to hear from you, answer your questions, and make sure you’re getting the very best customer service.
