CA| The Surplus Line Association of California has issued Bulletin #1501 announcing that the California Department of Insurance (CDI) is preparing for an upcoming Export List hearing, with the date to be determined. The CDI is soliciting suggestions for additions, modifications, or deletions to the Export List, which allows surplus line brokers to place certain coverages directly in the surplus lines market without a diligent search among admitted insurers, provided the Commissioner finds there is no reasonable or adequate admitted market or the coverage is new and innovative.
Submissions must specify the risk or coverage name as it should appear on the Export List and be sent to ExportListHearing@insurance.ca.gov by 5 p.m. on May 12, 2025, to be considered for inclusion in the hearing notice.
