CO| Colorado Regulation 4-2-105, which establishes requirements for carriers offering Colorado Option Standardized Health Benefit Plans in the small group market, effective July 15, 2025. The regulation ensures that carriers must offer standardized plans in the same manner as non-standardized plans and prohibits restrictions on producers’ ability to sell these plans.
- Carriers must offer Colorado Option Standardized Plans in the small group market under the same solicitation policies as non-standardized plans, and cannot restrict the number or type of standardized plans that insurance producers can sell compared to non-standardized plans.
- Noncompliance with the regulation may result in sanctions such as civil penalties, cease and desist orders, or license suspension or revocation, as provided by Colorado insurance law.
