FL| The Florida Surplus Lines Services Office (FSLSO) issued an e-Alert stating that effective October 1, 2025, the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office (FSLSO) will introduce a new feature in its SLIP+ system allowing users to designate certain multi-insurer (layered) policies as exempt from the Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPA) surcharge, but only when the surcharge has already been assessed on another insurer’s policy within the same layered structure; misuse of this exemption may result in regulatory action, and detailed instructions for implementation will be provided within SLIP+ documentation.
