LA| Louisiana Department of Insurance Directive 228 announces amended filing requirements for anti-fraud plans and summary reports due to Act 614 of the 2024 Legislative Session and updates to La. R.S. 22:572.1. All authorized insurers and health maintenance organizations must now electronically file their initial anti-fraud plan, any supplemental updates, and their annual summary report via the Industry Access Portal.
The summary report must detail data such as the number of policies in force, premiums written, claims received, suspicious claims referred, cases investigated, fraud losses and recoveries by fraud type, claims denied based on fraud, and the resources committed to anti-fraud activities, all organized by line of business. These filings are due by April 1 each year, ensuring ongoing compliance with updated regulatory requirements.
