LA| The Louisiana Department of Insurance has decided to completely get rid of a rule known as “Regulation 21.” This rule was originally created to protect people in Louisiana who buy insurance, as well as insurance companies, from certain types of insurance policies that were considered not to be in the public’s best interest.
However, the Department now believes that the current laws already provide enough rules and guidance about these insurance policies. Because of this, they feel that Regulation 21 is no longer needed and have officially repealed it.
This change takes effect immediately.
