New Mexico Announces New Lines of Authority

NM | Effective November 14, 2024, New Mexico will update its licensing framework as follows:

  • Title Producers: There will be an examination for individuals who are only handling Escrow separate from handling Title. This does not change CE requirements for any license types. Individuals currently licensed with the Title line of authority, can then add Escrow at renewal or amend the license from Title to only Escrow.
  • Independent and Staff Adjusters will now have lines of authority:
    • Property and Casualty
    • Workers’ Compensation
    • Public Entity
  • Beginning November 14, 2024, Adjuster licenses will have P/C as a line of authority. If handling Workers Compensation, a signed statement form will be required. If you are a Public Entity Adjuster, a signed statement form will be required During the renewal process you will be given the option to select the line of authority you qualify for.
  • Staff and Independent Adjuster licenses will reflect P/C as the line of authority beginning November 14, 2024.
