TX| Texas Commissioner of Insurance Order No. 2026-10171, dated October 1, 2026, finalizes the Texas Department of Insurance’s modification of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association’s (TWIA) 2026 proposed inflation adjustments to its maximum policy liability limits for policies delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2027. Following a September 29 public hearing with no public testimony or timely written comments, the Commissioner disapproved TWIA’s proposed increases for residential dwellings and individually owned townhouses and their contents, apartment/condominium/townhouse contents, and commercial and governmental structures and their contents, leaving those limits unchanged at $1,773,000, $374,000, and $4,424,000, respectively. The order notes that cumulative prior increases in these categories have exceeded increases in the applicable weighted-average BOECKH Index factors. The Commissioner approved only the proposed increase for manufactured homes, raising that maximum liability limit from $119,000 to $123,000.
