TX | Features in SLTX’s new online filing system, SMART, will be available to automated filers beginning in March 2020. Surplus lines agencies that use automated filing to submit transactions with SLTX will be able to file these transactions using SMART once they have completed prerequisite testing. Additionally, filers who previously utilized Vertafore’s AIM platform will have access to the SMART Connector to submit policy data.
Once SMART becomes fully available, login credentials for SLTX’s Electronic Filing System (EFS) can be used to enter the new system. Agencies must test their systems before filing via SMART, but testing will be available prior to the release. SLTX will provide additional information regarding testing in the coming weeks.
The upcoming release will also include functionality for internal filing, which the SLTX staff will use to process transactions. Additional features in SMART will be released in June 2020, with improvements released on an ongoing basis.
Once SMART has been launched, the existing EFS will remain functional for a few months. Transactions can still be submitted through EFS while testing is available in SMART. Any corrections or deletions should also be submitted in EFS.
