Giving back to the community that welcomes us so warmly has been central to ILSA’s mission since we opened our doors in 1997. For the last twelve years, the fight against cancer has formed the cornerstone of our community outreach. An ILSA team of volunteers organizes a variety of fundraisers to support local cancer survivors and those battling cancer.
2019 Pie in the Face Auction

The grand finale is always our Pie in the Face Auction. Community residents buy votes to nominate their favorite ILSA employees, teachers, law enforcement professionals, and others from the Groesbeck area to receive a Pie in the Face. Then, we hold a live auction to bid for the opportunity to fling pudding and whipped cream pies at the eager (okay … sometimes slightly reluctant) targets.
This year, ILSA and members of our community raised over $5,500 to support three local women in their fight against cancer. One of the recipients, Stacy Faglie, spoke movingly about the event’s importance. “Cancer is not fun for anybody,” she explained. “It’s hard on us; it’s hard on the families. But it makes it a whole lot easier when we have this backing us up.”

ILSA employees pied in the 2019 event included Angie Dyer, Sabrina Slater, Charles Nance, Brittany Cooper, Amanda Willis, and Kristy Roberts. Our thanks again to everyone in our community whose efforts made this event such a success, especially to Limestone County Sheriff Dennis Wilson who once again served as our auctioneer. Thanks also to Angie Dyer and Joyce King, who coordinated the event for ILSA. Great job, ladies!
