PA | In May 2017, the Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner determined that certain insurance coverages were generally unavailable in the authorized market and declared those coverages as exportable. For those insurance coverages that are included on the export list, a diligent search among insurers admitted to do business in the Commonwealth is not required before placement of the coverages in the surplus lines market.
The Insurance Commissioner declared that the export list would remain in effect until revised or superseded by a subsequent list.
At this time, the Acting Insurance Commissioner is soliciting comments regarding the current export list. Any person may request in writing that a coverage be added or removed from the list.
