OR | The State of Oregon clarifies a previously issued announcement that applies only to non-resident Public Adjuster licenses. For approximately the last two years, Oregon has allowed adjusters who hold only a Public Adjuster license in their resident state to be issued an Oregon General Lines Adjuster license.
In order to bring your non-resident adjuster license in compliance with Oregon regulations, the following will be required:
Non-Resident Public Adjusters – Renewals/Applications
Beginning September 1, 2021, Oregon will no longer renew Oregon General Lines Adjuster Licenses if you hold only a Public Adjuster License in your home state. You will need to get a Designated Home State (“DHS”) license in a state that issues a DHS license.
Effective immediately – Oregon will not accept applications if you have only a Public Adjuster License in your home state. You will need to obtain a DHS license in a state that issues a DHS license. This does not affect Oregon Resident Adjusters as Oregon only issues a General Lines license, which covers both public and independent adjusters.
Several states offer only Public Adjuster licenses. If your resident state offers only Public Adjuster licensing, you may obtain a Designated Home State license from a state that offers DHS licenses.
• States that offer a DHS are: AL, AK, AR, DE FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MI, MN, MS, NH, NC, OK, RI, TX, UT, WY
This change does not affect those licensees holding an independent or General Lines adjuster license in their resident state.
